CONFERENCE FACILITIES

The Maccauvlei conference centre with its modern conference facilities can accommodate up to 150 persons.Various guest
houses or other interesting facilities in the Northern Free State region for smaller conferences create a much sought after
destination for conferences in a rustic environment. Sunwa Ventures and Hadeda Greek on the banks of the Vaal River on
the outside of Parys have an outdoor touch with accompanying team-building facilities (river rafting).Stonehenge and
Khaya iBhubesi in the same vicinity cater for upmarket conference facilities of outstanding quality.
ART ROUTES AND VISITING-PLACES

Parys on the Vaal is a magnificent visiting-place with interesting small walk-in shops and an art route. Madiba Africa is local high quality art available in this small rural tourism town. The art route is open every first week-end of the month, Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 – 17:00.
“Gallery 88” in Sasolburg is an upmarket art gallery with outstanding art. Famous names such as Pieter van der Westhuizen, Phillip Badenhorst, Sarie Sanders, Michaèl Heyns and George Boys are household names. Durable arts and crafts can be purchased here.
The “Lemon Tree Coffee Shop” at Gallery 88 is famous for its cheese-cake and quiche. Come and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of an outside garden in the summer and the cosy fire-place in the cold winter months.
The “Al Tiley Art Gallery” is situated on the banks of the Vaaldam at Deneysville. (The gallery is also trading in Clarens). Scenic paintings, especially Eastern Free State landscapes, can be found in an art collection of South African artists. Pottery, sculpture and a collection of eastern carpets, make it a worthwhile visit. Old South African furniture are also on offer. The galery is open daily for visitors: Mon – Fri 8:30 – 17:00. Closed between 13:00 & 14:00. Sat 8:00 – 17:00. Sun & Public Holidays 9:00 – 16:30. Closed for lunch 12:30 – 14:30 Closed on Christmas Day & Good Friday.
The Indaba Hotel at Sasolburg is renowned for its cosy dining-room. Delicious traditional Sunday lunches attract visitors from the Gauteng area on a weekly basis. Phone Ms Kies at telephone 016-976 0600 for reservations.
